Assistant Director of Academic Affairs

Position Summary

This position will certify educators for initial licensure and advanced endorsements on behalf of the University in partnership with the College of Education's Student Affairs Office (SAO); support programs’ use of state standards for educator certification and liaise with state regarding program approvals; coordinate Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) work and accreditation visit; responsible for College-level Via support and implementation, in partnership with College Data Analytics; lead process improvement in curriculum governance.

Required Degree

Masters -Education, preferably teaching or teacher education

Minimum Requirements

Masters Degree in Education, preferably teaching or teacher education.

Desired Qualifications

Appreciation for the conceptual approach used in Michigan educator certification; familiarity with collection of data to assess experiential education; understanding of higher education curriculum and programmatic processes; or, ability to quickly learn the same. Attention to detail, systems thinker, comfortable learning new technical systems, strong interpersonal skills.
