General Summary

The Call: Building on our long history of excellence in leadership education, the Department of Educational Administration and Foundations (EAF) in the College of Education at Illinois State University seeks an experienced, highly motivated, culturally responsive, and effective research methods scholar to join us as we prepare people from diverse backgrounds to assume leadership positions in both the higher education and PK-12 enterprises in the advancement of the democratic ideal.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of this experienced colleague will be to teach master’s and doctoral courses related to PK-12 and higher education administration aspiring leaders, on- and off-campus, in an online, hybrid, face-to-face, and weekend cohort formats; advise doctoral dissertations and chair and serve on preliminary examinations; maintain an active research agenda and status as a graduate faculty member while providing service to the unit, college, university, and affiliate professional organizations. The candidate will be expected to recruit, advise, and mentor students, assist in program reviews/accreditation work, and may also be asked to assist with program coordination.

Additional Information

The Department: Educational Administration and Foundations (EAF) is an interdisciplinary department comprised of four main areas: PK–12 administration; higher education administration; research methods, assessment, and evaluation; and educational foundations. Graduate programs serve students on campus and at several off-campus sites. Required Qualifications

1. Earned doctorate from an accredited university in research methods or closely related field
2. 5 years of demonstrated excellence as a tenure-track assistant professor
3. Ability to meet the department’s requirements for tenure and promotion.
4. Have an established research agenda as evinced by a robust record of peer-reviewed publications in relevant venues and presentations at national and international conferences.
5. Experience advising dissertation research and supporting graduate students, particularly historically underrepresented or marginalized students, with a strong orientation to collegiality.
6. Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
