Job Description Summary:

The Associate Dean of the Lewis School of Health Sciences will work with the dean and the chairs to develop effective and efficient operation of the school within the policies, directions, and plans of the university as a whole. The Associate Dean plays a central role in facilitating the link between department chairs, academic program directors, faculty members, staff, students, and the university leadership.
The associate dean is expected to support the dean to establish and maintain a collegial work climate, to cooperatively lead the academic unit towards improved productivity and relevancy, and to assure the academic integrity and curricular coherence of all programs embraced within it. All actives and roles of the associate dean are undertaken in light of furthering the best interests of the students of Clarkson University

Minimum Qualifications:

Education Minimal Qualification:
* Terminal Degree in one of the four pillars of healthcare: clinical medicine, medical research, healthcare management, or public health and policy.

Experience Minimal Qualifications:
* An academic with knowledge of curriculum development, assessment, experiential education, and inter-professional education* Experience in strategic planning and development of new programs* Knowledgeable about opportunities in service learning, research, and experiential learning for undergraduates students* Possesses negotiation and conflict management skills while maintaining a commitment to the overall success of the university* Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to successfully engage with diverse stakeholders.* Demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging among faculty, staff, and students.* Commitment to the highest standards of academic excellence especially in internships, clinical, and other immersive practical experiences.* The ability to make complex decisions in a timely manner, while listening to and incorporating the input of key constituents.* The ability to be a member of a skilled and highly competent administrative team.* An attitude that embraces a growth mindset and the ability to be forward-looking in the development of the strategic direction that is consistent with the University’s strategic framework.* Experience in administration in higher education* Understanding of on-line education

* Meaningful experience with curriculum development, curricular coherence, assessment, experiential education, and inter-professional education* Meaningful experience with accreditation of clinical based healthcare programs and clinical education* Has worked across the four pillars of healthcare in a meaningful way* Served in a leadership position for a minimum of 10 years, department chair, director, or other* Strong leadership skills demonstrated in a large, complex, multi- faceted organization.* A proven track record of partnering with academic colleagues to develop and grow multi-disciplinary programs.* Leadership in education and experience with development, implementation, and assessment of curricular, co-curricular, and/or experiential learning
