Position Summary:

Governors State University is seeking to hire a Junior Server/Network Administrator in the Information Technology Services department. This position provides technical support to the University’s server and network environment. This position acts as a first-tier support that manages and expedites support requests and provides direct end-user support to customers.

Salary Range: $33,241.23 – $56,000.00.
(This is a non-unionized position. Salary starts at the base and is determined based on Education and Experience exceeding the minimum qualifications).

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school graduation or equivalent2. Any combination totaling one (1) year from the following categories: A. progressively more responsible work experience in an Information Technology (IT) related profession.
B. college course work which included Information Technology (IT), or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

  • 60 semester hours or Associate’s Degree equals one (1) year.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in Information Technology or equivalent OR Associate degree or degree-seeking
Bachelor’s degree or degree seeking. At least one year working in a technical role that includes working with servers and/or networking equipment. Experience in a customer service and support role directly related to applications and technology.
