Responsible for supervision and oversight of the Strozier and Dirac library security desk. This may include resolving issues with patrons, staffing shortfalls, and liaising with FSUPD. Monitors public use of library facilities and contacts building maintenance as needed.
Assists with hiring, supervision, scheduling and terminating employees and making recommendations regarding employment status.
Assists in developing security training for the libraries, including but not limited to, active shooter training, de-escalation techniques, and security policy and procedures. Recommends, develops, and enforces security procedures and policies. Prepares, maintains, and provides updates and reports related to the operation of security.
Responsible for AED compliance checks and monthly reporting. Assists maintenance supervisor with basic tasks, as needed, by the request of the Facilities and Security Manager. May include light cleaning, moving furniture, etc.
High school diploma or equivalency and one year experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to one year. Customer service experience.
Experience utilizing problem solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Experience with basic computer functions to include Microsoft Office.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting 30 lbs and standing for extended periods of time.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

The schedule is currently 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. However, it is subject to change based on the library operating hours and may require Saturday shifts in the future.
