Job Description:

This position supports the general administrative functions of the Small Animal Clinical Sciences department, including reception and routine office support, coordinating locums and visitors of the department, as well as arranging faculty interviews. The Administrative Support Assistant I will provide academic assistance to the Department Chair, Administrative Specialist, and department faculty with course evaluations, tenure and promotion and sustained performance processes. This position will also be cross-trained with other staff on various office-related duties as needed, such as travel and purchasing.

Expected schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Expected Salary:

$16.00 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Ability to work independently, to listen and follow directions, and meet deadlines.
  2. Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and prioritize multiple work assignments while maintaining a high level of attention to detail, reliability, and professionalism.
  3. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Canvas, and WordPress
  4. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Knowledge of, and ability to use, standard business formats, correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar with particular attention to ensuring communications are well put together and formatted correctly.
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive materials and act with discretion.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with faculty and staff, handle telephone calls and emails in a courteous and efficient manner.
