Job Description:

The Lastinger Center for Learning is an education innovation hub within UF’s College of Education focused on creating equitable education systems that improve teaching and learning across early childhood and K-12 education. Specifically, the Center targets kindergarten readiness, 3rd grade reading proficiency, and algebra proficiency as critical milestones in children’s educational trajectory that are predictive of success in school and life. The Center works at the nexus of research, practice, and policy to develop sustainable systems that leverage educational technologies and improve the implementation of research-based practices. Housed in one of the nation’s elite public research universities, the Center operates as a dynamic, entrepreneurial workplace focused on executing against UF’s service mission to strengthen the human condition and improve the quality of life.

This position is a member of the Academics Team but will consult with the Business Services Team regarding logistics and coordination.

Travel Administration

  • Coordinates all travel arrangements for the Executive Leadership Team who travel extensively. This position will provide travel support for the Center Director on an as need basis.
  • Prepares and submits all necessary forms for travel reimbursement for Executive Leadership Team.
  • Coordinates all travel arrangements for the Academics Team
  • Maintains good working knowledge of all current UF travel policies and procedures.
  • Maintains clear and accurate travel records.
  • Assists with coordinating travel for Center associates as needed.
  • Submits all travel documentation and receipts in a timely manner and in accordance with UF policies and procedures.

Event/Professional Development Planning and Support

  • Coordinates with the Chief Academic Officer to provide support for virtual and in-person professional development and other events.
  • Provides virtual and in-person professional development support by corresponding with facilitators and participants, scheduling, keeping attendance records, and providing event specific support.
  • Provides virtual support by being present and answering questions via chat, creating breakout rooms, providing resources, pre- and post-communication to facilitators and participants, and keeping attendance records.
  • Purchases and organizes materials for events.
  • Maintains clear and up-to-date calendar of events.
  • Coordinates and support Center events as needed.

Scheduling, Logistics, and Clerical Support

  • Organizes and maintains the calendars for the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Coordinates and prepares routine correspondence and materials for the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Coordinates meetings for the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Coordinates meetings for the Academics Team as needed.
  • Provides clerical and logistics support to Center associates as needed.
  • Takes minutes during meetings and provides summary to participants.
  • Purchases materials/supplies for Executive Leadership Team and Academics team.
  • Submits all receipts in a timely manner and in accordance with UF policies and procedures.

Other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

Salary is commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Superior interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment and work proactively to provide wide-range of project support.
  • Ability to professionally represent the Center through various forms of communication.
