The University of South Carolina’s Division of Human Resources is implementing a new HR service delivery model to better serve our employees and the colleges, schools, and business units that support them. We are accepting applications to fill the role of Recruiter.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):
In alliance with the Office of Talent Acquisition within the Division of Human Resources, the Recruiter will provide recruitment related strategy and support to a set of assigned colleges and divisions within the University. The Recruiter will play a vital role in achieving the University’s ongoing strategic priority of ‘Assembling and cultivating a world-class faculty and staff.’ This position prioritizes service to customer units by providing guidance and assistance to HR contacts and leadership as applicable.
The Recruiter will provide professional recruiting services through candidate sourcing, interviewing, and screening to fill openings for assigned colleges/divisions. The incumbent will use passive and direct sourcing techniques such as database mining and internet searching while networking within associations and organizations. The Recruiter will also be responsible for conducting and gathering competitive research on comparable and competitive institutions and/or organizations. In addition, the Recruiter will discuss long-range personnel needs with leadership to prepare and implement recruitment strategies.
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years experience in human resources management programs, including recruitment. Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and resume databases. Prior experience with sourcing techniques. Prior experience managing all phases of the recruitment process. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle data with confidentiality. Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. In depth knowledge of HR best practices, as well as state and federal laws and regulations. Ability to analyze requests and make sound recommendations or solutions. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers at all levels. Must possess the ability to write clearly, accurately, and effectively.
