Primary Function:

Cleans and cares for assigned buildings, facilities and their premises. Supports the mission of the University, including receptivity to new initiatives as may be set forth by the Office of Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities:

Cleans restroom facilities and replenishes supplies.

Sweeps, dust mops, wet mops, vacuums, strips and waxes floors on a regular basis.

Removes trash and recyclable materials.

Washes walls, windows, and sills on a regular basis.

Dusts and cleans offices.

Reports building security problems, damaged structures or equipment, and other maintenance problems to supervisor or lead worker.

Cleans grounds adjacent to assigned building(s).

Operates various mechanical, electrical, and battery operated machines to aid in performing the above tasks and duties.

Judgment Required:

Prescribed, established procedures are primarily used to perform the essential functions of this position.

Known familiarly as “Sewanee” by its students, faculty, staff and friends, The University of the South offers an unmatched educational experience.
