Job Information

The Department of Counselor Education at Augusta University invites applications for a nine-month, Limited Term Assistant Professor position in Counselor Education for Academic Year 2021-2022. The position will be for the following terms fall2021/spring 2022 or spring 2022/summer 2022. The Counselor Education Program offers CACREP-accredited specializations in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling at the master’s level. The ideal candidate has the background and knowledge to contribute to the core content areas to the master level.

Responsibilities

Teaching three to four Master’s level courses per semester; supervising practicum and internship students; and participating in program, department, college, and university meetings. Candidates should be prepared to deliver a variety of courses through various formats (online, hybrid, and face-to-face.


Minimum Requirements

An earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP- accredited program. Prior counseling work experience; prior college teaching experience; professional identity with the counseling profession through membership in professional counseling organizations; licensed or license eligible as a school counselor or professional counselor (LPC) in Georgia.

Preferred Qualifications

A concentration in School Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the master’s or doctoral level; evidence of scholarly productivity (e.g. published articles, book chapters, books, and/or professional conference presentations); experience with online teaching.

Conditions of Employment

All candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review. For specific positions, the final candidate may be subject to a (pre-employment) physical, drug screen, and/or credit check.

The final candidate will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.
