Description of Position

The Grant and Proposal Writer will facilitate the grant program for the Regional Economic Development Center at Yavapai College (REDC). This position will seek and apply for department grant funding as well as provide grant and proposal writing services to outside REDC clients.
  • Research potential funding sources: identify and recommend grant opportunities that align with Yavapai College priorities.
  • Support the analysis, planning, implementation, evaluation, and writing of grant applications.
  • Submit high quality grant proposals and other collateral documents required in the process.
  • Work to meet grant application deadlines.
  • Communicate with fellow consultants, employees, and the Executive Director on application development components.
  • Utilize our organizational systems and technology for accurate reporting and tracking of information.
  • Maintain quality control and execution of our Grant Applications.
  • Critical thinking and organizational skills are a must.
Additional Job ExpectationsRegular attendance is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability towards the performance of job duties.Ability to work a flexible schedule as determined by the department.Required participation in professional growth and development activities.Remote work options are available as per the supervisor's discretion. This position is a hybrid/work from home/office, but candidate must be located within 150 miles of the office.   • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Media, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ grant writing experience (including federal )
  • Experience in grant-seeking, grant research, grant writing, program design, and evaluation.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of computer programs, software, and online document sharing programs.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of online grant application portals (foundation, corporate, and government)
  • Critical thinking and organizational skills are a must.
  • Exceptional writing and computer skills including Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • A complete familiarity with Federal and State Grant application procedures.
  • Preferred Skills & Abilities
