University of Maryland School of Medicine

The Program in Trauma at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is currently recruiting a full-time Critical Care Intensivist at UM Capital Region Health (UMCRH) located in Largo, Maryland.

The Critical Care Department supports ~40 beds. Two multi-disciplinary Critical Care teams provide care to mixed Medical/Cardiovascular ICU. There is a third Critical Care team providing care to Trauma/Surgical patients. Trauma is a significant component, as the hospital is the second busiest Trauma Center in the State of Maryland. There is daily 12 hours swing shift service for new admissions and consults. There is an in-house night intensivist shift from 7p –7a.

The Medical team works with Medical Residents and other services are paired with Advanced Practice Providers who are proficient in Critical Care procedures.

UMCRH has a large Internal Medicine and Family Practice training program with teaching responsibilities. The hospital is staffed with in-house Intensivists, Anesthesiologists, Hospitalists and Trauma Surgeons 24/7/365.

Applicant must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Critical Care. Primary board can be in Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesiology or Emergency Medicine. Experience in Cardiac Critical Care/CVICU is desirable. 

The position includes an academic appointment with the University of Maryland School of Medicine; rank will be commensurate with experience and training. A competitive salary is being offered and the position is currently available. Largo is located near DC and Baltimore metro areas.
