Position Summary:

The Associate Director is responsible for developing and executing communications and recruitment plans targeted at meeting the enrollment goals for the College, in accordance with the Admissions Office and overall College strategic planning processes. This person is responsible for direct supervision and leadership of a team of Admissions Counselors. He/she will also assist the Director with strategic planning initiatives, admissions reporting, and the overall development and execution of admission services for prospective students and families. The Associate Director is responsible for promoting a positive customer service philosophy in support of the College’s Enrollment Management Goals.

Responsibilities and Duties :

Essential Duties:
-Supervise and provide leadership to a team of Admissions Counselors who are responsible for the recruitment and advisement of inquiries, applicants, and incoming students throughout the admissions process. Includes hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation. (Essential)
-Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of best practices in admissions and enrollment management standards to participate in the strategic planning for Admissions. (Essential)
-Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement a robust recruitment strategy, for traditional as well as transfer, international, graduate and special populations, designed to achieve enrollment goals and aligned with the College’s strategic plan. (Essential)
-Coordinate the development of Admissions-related marketing and recruitment materials. (Essential)
-Collaborate with Academic Affairs and the LEAP Center for the recruitment and enrollment of international students. (Essential)
-Develop appropriate communications, as needed, through the enrollment process to support unique needs of special population students. (Essential)
-Develop, prepare, and analyze reports to assist in the development of recruitment & marketing strategies, e.g. evaluating prior travel activities for effectiveness when developing the annual travel schedule with Admissions Counselors. (Essential)
-Collaborate with the Director to develop and interpret application and enrollment reports, including the annual Incoming Class Overview, for distribution to key stakeholders. Assist with data analysis to guide strategic planning and actionable decision-making. (Essential)
-Develop and execute the strategy for contracted services and purchased names.
-Oversee Admissions Counselors’ outreach plans for high school counselors, community college advisers, community agencies, and other potential referral sources. (Essential)
-Serve as the Admissions liaison an academic marketing committees. (Essential)
-Serve as the Admissions liaison to College Relations for corporate partner engagement in recruitment. (Essential)
-Act as liaison to Penn College Athletics, managing coordination between Admissions and Athletics in support of recruitment of student athletes. Develop and promote coordinated efforts of all Admission and Athletics recruitment activities. (Essential)
-Assist in the development of on-campus recruitment events by providing strategic direction and additional insights from recruitment planning expertise. (Essential)
-Participate in student recruitment events. (Essential)
-Make recommendations to the Director for development of new and revision of current College policies and procedures related to Admissions when appropriate. (Essential)
-Assist the Director with ensuring compliance with federal, state, and professional regulations and guidelines related to admissions standards and practices. (Essential)
-Develop and maintain a comprehensive perspective with regard to all College operations and services to consider how they impact admissions-related processes and procedures; make recommendations to the Director on the development of college operations and services to best meet the needs of students and the College. -Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of the College’s matriculation process beyond Admissions, to include, financial aid, placement testing, new student advising, course scheduling, bill paying, orientation, residence life, move in, first-year programs, etc. (Essential)
-Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the College’s academic programs, academic requirements, academic policies and procedures, academic calendar, academic support services, curricular opportunities, career services, etc. (Essential)
-Represent the College with stakeholder groups in the community as requested by the Director. (Essential)
-Conduct courtesy evaluations of college transcripts from other institutions for the potential awarding of transfer credit. (Marginal)
