The Department of Keyboard Studies seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor Pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for Fall 2021, Spring 2022, and Summer 2022 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses to develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs. Minimum Qualifications:
The anticipated need is for a background in piano pedagogy and applied teaching at all levels. Supervise Student Teaching in private piano and/or group instruction. Expertise in teaching class piano for both music majors and non-music majors. Administration of piano proficiency exams, as needed. All instruction will take place on the UNT Denton campus or via online/Zoom instruction.
Terminal degree in music or closely related field. Professional experience may be accepted in place of an earned degree. Prior college-level teaching experience.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in teaching piano pedagogy and motivating young teachers just beginning their teaching experience.Work Schedule:
Experience in teaching keyboard performance with reference to the standards of performance of the UNT Keyboard Studies program.
