Occupational Summary

The Multimedia Production Specialist is a role that balances the creative and the technical. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating video content from start to finish, has the technical skills to create high quality work and is comfortable producing content in a team as well as individually. This position is responsible for contributing to the creation of advanced multimedia content for the Fuqua community of faculty, students, staff and guests.

Delivery of this service often requires an understanding of the dynamics of the various programs and operations within the Fuqua School of Business and Duke University. A strong foundation of good communication skills including the ability to assist users in a variety of circumstances is a must for success in this position.

Work Performed:
Production – Develop and apply appropriate video production techniques for gathering footage for use by the Fuqua School of Business with both studio and field production. (camera operation, audio production, lighting, teleprompting, green screen, etc.). Develop and contribute processes for live events for the school across a number of technologies, including YouTube Live, Zoom Webinar, and StreamYard.

Post-Production – Develop and apply appropriate post-production techniques for processing footage and other resources to produce content for use by the Fuqua School of Business. (audio-video editing software, digital graphics software, etc.) This position will need to be proficient in Final Cut Pro, Motion, Compressor and frame.io for post-production work.

Distribution of Multimedia Content – Develop and apply best practices for live and post-production materials as needed by the Fuqua School of Business. (YouTube, WarpWire)

Coordination with other IT operations – Develop understanding of the various IT operations at Fuqua and Duke. Contribute and participate in the overall development and support of IT excellence at our school.

Required Qualifications:
Education/Training:

4-year college degree or the equivalent is required, related field is preferred.

Experience
Generally, requires 2 years' experience, preferably within an academic environment, or organization working on information technologies in education. Supervisory experience is valuable. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills required.

Duke University was created in 1924 by James Buchanan Duke as a memorial to his father, Washington Duke. The Dukes, a Durham family that built a worldwide financial empire in the manufacture of tobacco products and developed electricity production in the Carolinas, long had been interested in Trinity College. Trinity traced its roots to 1838 in nearby Randolph County when local Methodist and Quaker communities opened Union Institute. The school, then named Trinity College, moved to Durham in 1892, where Benjamin Newton Duke served as a primary benefactor and link with the Duke family until his death in 1929. In December 1924, the provisions of indenture by Benjamin’s brother, James B.
