Job Summary

The Colorado Center for Personalized Medicine (CCPM) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus has built a clinically certified CCPM Biobank with >80,000 patients and is rapidly expanding. CCPM is looking to build clinical applications to partner with UCHealth to return clinical results to patients at scale.
Under the direction and guidance of the Associate Director of Translational Informatics Services (TIS) within CCPM, this full-time, benefits-eligible Full Stack Developer with proven public cloud experience Google Cloud Platforms (GCP) who will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing enterprise scale solutions to support return of genetic results for clinical care.

Examples of Work Performed:

• Communicate between TIS, CCPM Biobank, UC Health, Health Data Compass and OIT (Office of Information Technology) for planning,     estimation, documentation, and status reporting of clinical system applications

• Design and implement bioinformatics workflows using WDL/Cromwell engine

• Build GUI templates using HTML/JavaScript

• Build application logic using Python Flask framework to convert raw genotyping data into clinically useful variant calls delivered into Epic     electronic health records

• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency

• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software

• Create security and data protection settings

• Write technical documentation in collaboration with Health Data Compass and OIT Security Operations that meets security and                  compliance standards

• Work with CCPM analysts to improve software

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $67,245 - $102,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role
  • Experience developing online/cloud applications, working with python and flask, and experience working in a cloud environment
  • Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, Flask, JavaScript, XML, jQuery) and multiple back-end languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
  • Familiarity with common stacks and databases (e.g. BigQuery, APIs (e.g. HL7, FHIR) and UI/UX design
Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Experience working in a Google Cloud environment.
  •  Demonstrated experience with technical/analytical verification and validation of software for clinical use.
  •  Exposure to bioinformatics, GWAS, NGS
  •  Familiarity with EPIC Genomics Module
