General Summary

The Teaching Doctoral Fellow performs direct instruction as a majority of their service. Working closely with one or more faculty members, lecturers, or department administrators, assist with the instruction of undergraduate and/or graduate students either directly through in-class contact or tutoring or through indirect course facilitation or grading.

The Teaching Graduate Assistant receives a stipend and a tax-exempt tuition waiver.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

In consultation with one or more faculty members, lecturers, or department administrators, assist in the teaching of sections of undergraduate and/or graduate course(s). Responsible for multiple facets of course preparation, instruction, assessment, and tutoring of students.

Other departmental related duties as required.

Qualifications

Ability to work up to 20 hours per week is required.

GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.

Admission and enrollment in a doctoral program is required.

Maintenance of a 67% course completion is required.

Enrollment in at least 6 credits for Fall and Winter semesters is required.

The report contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as: campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the University will follow when one of these crimes is reported; and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Noncampus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.
