Job Details

Summary and Scope of Position:

This is a full time position.  The Athletic Operations Assistant reports directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Operations. Must have a good working knowledge of college athletics and effective communication skills.  This person will be required to interact with coaches and staff independently and will manage and oversee laundry assistants, game day assistants, and student workers.  In addition, the candidate will be responsible for preparation of practice and game facilities.   A flexible work schedule is necessary as weekend and night hours are required for game coverage, laundry and building security.   

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Prepare practice and game fields and manage student workers to assist with venue preparation 
  • Manage all aspects of team uniform inventory including distributing game uniforms prior to events, inspecting and laundering uniforms after events, supervising laundry assistants, and assisting coaches with purchasing
  • Coordinate team locker room usage, manage daily team practice laundry and distribute athletic equipment
  • Setup and breakdown facilities for home athletic events
  • Assist with coverage of events with game management duties, including but not limited to supervising game day assistants and student workers, coordinating with game officials and managing spectators
  • Must have good communication with coaches and staff to help with requests and projects 
  • Manage game day workers for home football contests and travel with football team to away contests
  • Serve as liaison to coaches for all summer camp needs including coordination of venue spaces, and some oversight of policies
  • Act as game day administrator for compression bat testing certification for home softball and baseball contests
  • Serve as primary point person for golf simulator room
  •  Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree highly preferred and 1-3 years previous experience in collegiate athletics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational, delegation and planning ability
  • Must be able to think independently, work as a member of a team and be proactive
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division III and Centennial rules and regulations
  • Experience in field preparation and maintenance is preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to flex schedule to cover athletic events
  • Must be able to do minor repairs and upgrades
