Hofstra University is a dynamic community of more than 11,000 students from around the world who are dedicated to civic engagement, academic excellence and becoming leaders in their communities and their careers.Description:Working closely with the Dean and Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, the Assistant Dean of Administration and Budget will plan, support, oversee and liaise with the Provost’s Office, department chairs, program directors, faculty and campus administrators for all matters related to administration and budget in the School of Health Professions and Human Services (HPHS).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Develops job descriptions, job requisition forms and advertisement forms for HPHS faculty and staff
•Monitors, coordinates and prepares part-time and full-time faculty appointments, reappointments and tenure applications
•Oversees and manages school and departmental budgets in collaboration with the Dean
•Coordinates financial data reports submitted to University, regulatory and accreditation bodies
•Reviews and approves purchase requisitions and reimbursement requests
•Provides oversight for start-up funding, study abroad, and HPHS research grant allocation and spending.
•Manages faculty load reports (and related workflows) and provides oversight and guidance to faculty and key personnel for compensation issues and questions
•Reviews, coordinates and approves clinical affiliation agreements as liaison between legal counsel and HPHS program faculty
•Collaborates extensively with all members of the dean’s office and with administration, faculty and staff on special projects and on ad hoc committees and task forces
•Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:Master’s degree required
At least five years of administrative experience in a higher education setting
A demonstrated record of accomplishment, and a proven ability to plan, organize and accomplish goals
Strong communication, presentation, writing and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, BlackBoard, Banner highly preferred.
Ability to establish and maintain rapport with faculty and students in a dynamic academic and professional environment
