Postdoc - Civil and Environmental Engineering - UC Berkeley
The Energy, Controls, and Applications Lab (eCAL) at the University of California, Berkeley (UCB) is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar, with a focus on optimization, modeling, simulation, data science, and energy systems. eCAL consists of students, faculty, researchers, and collaborators performing research in dynamic systems, control, optimization, and data science in energy applications that include batteries, automated & electrified vehicles, and the smart grid.
The candidate will work directly with graduate students, undergraduates, faculty, and researchers and project managers from collaborating institutions.
We anticipate the candidate will lead one or two sponsored research projects, depending on the candidates skill set, experience, and interests. On the first project, SlrpEV (Smart LeaRning Pilot for Electric Vehicles), the candidate will lead tasks involving modeling, data analysis, optimization, simulation, deployment of software on web servers, and interactions with research participants. On the second project, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, the candidate will lead tasks involving network modeling, optimization, data analysis, and simulation of fleet of electrified trucks. In both projects, the candidate is expected to mentor student researchers, interact with sponsors/collaborators and present results at conferences and in peer-reviewed publications.
This position is covered by the UC-UAW collective bargaining agreement for Postdoctoral Scholars. The current contract can be found here:
