Together, with Dr. Chang, the candidate will be the primary architect for managing automated development and deployment of high-availability enterprise clinical and research software applications leveraging machine learning in healthcare, across both local on-premises and cloud-based deployments. Expertise is required in cloud-native technologies such as Docker containerization, Kubernetes orchestration, automated server configuration and production cluster management. Key responsibilities include maintaining automated high-availability, continuous deployments across various platforms; encapsulating deployments of data science models using Docker containers; upgrade and troubleshoot issues within the production environment; setting up and managing large production compute clusters; Linux systems administration including routine software updates and user access provisioning for team of data scientists and students. The single most important requisite for this position is a high capacity for critical thinking and independent analysis, especially in the context of new problems. Data science in healthcare is a rapidly evolving field; no two tasks or challenges are the same. The ability to critically evaluate a new problem and derive solutions with a high a degree of autonomy is paramount to success. A successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of teaching (e.g., students, residents, fellows, and faculty) and working with trainees of various levels. Additionally, the candidate must be able to communicate technical ideas clearly with individuals regardless of background or experience. Finally, the candidate should effectively work collaboratively in large multidisciplinary teams across scientists, engineers, clinicians, and students.
