Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:Knowledge of Mac and PC computers and their operating systems, as well as various software programs including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and SPSS.
Ability to analyze and solve problems related to technology, computers, and computer systems.
Ability to triage problems so projects can be managed in the order of importance, and multiple projects can be addressed as needed.
Clear communication with faculty and staff regarding problems and potential solutions in a timely manner.
Ability to work independently and in a team setting, and effectively communicate with faculty, staff, and Department Chairs.
Ability to research problems, consider multiple solutions, and to efficiently implement solutions in multiple settings across different platforms.
Knowledge of university-based webpage maintenance system (GATO).
Prior experience working in a university environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
The Systems Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support to the faculty and staff of the Department of Sociology and the Department of Philosophy. Responsible for maintaining a teaching lab, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware, software, and audiovisual equipment, in addition to webpage maintenance.
Job Duties:Maintain and troubleshoot teaching lab, zoom conference room, and all faculty and staff hardware and software.
Serve as liaison with ITAC for classroom computers, software updates, and resolving technical issues for faculty and department staff.
Printer and print server maintenance.
Departmental webpage and digital sign maintenance.
Coordination of equipment and online needs for events and presentations.
Support faculty and staff computing needs, ensuring that software is updated and equipment is in good working order.
Serve as back-up liaison with ITAC for classroom computers, software updates, and resolving technical issues to ensure faculty can access classroom technology.
Provide support for remote learning by supporting faculty teaching online courses, and facilitating the online presence of the Philosophy Dialogue Series.
Additional duties as required.
