Description
The Ent Center for the Arts Production Manager (PM) is responsible for operating, protecting, and maintaining the Ent Center’s event production equipment and technical assets as well as overseeing performance and back of house staffing including supervision of other production staff, student employees, and/or contracted production crew.  The PM provides primary event support for the UCCS Presenting Series and rental clients using the 250 seat Chapman Foundations Recital Hall and the 750 seat Shockley-Zalabak Mainstage Theater.  Upon request this position will provide support for performances by THEATREWORKS in the Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theatre and the UCCS Visual and Performing Arts department.  Administratively, the PM assists clients and program producers with interpreting their production needs and providing accurate costs/budget estimates.  They are responsible for tracking and preparing all payroll for contracted production crew, providing final production costs for each performance for invoicing, and regularly inventorying and reviewing the condition of all Ent Center production and event equipment.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee the advancement of production needs for events occurring in the Ent Center for the Arts and effectively communicate event requirements to production crew.
  • Provide technical expertise and advice to campus community members and external clients producing events at the Ent Center.
  • Work with clients and Event Coordinators to design and implement audio and video solutions for events.
  • Effectively manages general operational budget and individual performance/event budgets.
  • Hire, train, and supervise full-time production staff, contracted production crew, and student employees according to UCCS policies.
  • Oversees scheduling and appropriate staffing of student and professional production crews for events.
  • Facilitates payroll process for all contracted temporary and part-time production professionals.
  • Develop and implement plans for operation of production equipment, systems, and procedures.
  • Manages equipment inventory process and maintenance of all production equipment, including preventive maintenance, inspection, upgrades and repair.
  • Coordinates reservation, delivery, setup/use/strike, and load out of vendor equipment rentals.
  • Sets and enforces safe-use guidelines for equipment and emergency procedures for back of house operations.

  • This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

    What We Offer:

    Salary Range: Generally starting at $43,013 - $57,351

    The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

    Qualifications
     Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field. You may substitute experience for education on a year for year basis. 

  • Four (4) years professional experience in event production management, contracting, and technical advancing. One year of experience will substitute for one year education.

  • Two (2) years work experience supervising audiovisual and/or event production staff.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in event production management, contracting, technical advancing .

  • One (1) or more years experience using ETC lighting products including programming and troubleshooting intelligent lighting fixtures.

  • One (1) or more years experience troubleshooting Paradigm lighting systems.

  • One (1) or more years experience in managing an event production operating budget.

  • One (1) or more years experience working in a university student-focused environment.

  • One (1) or more years experience with student supervision.

    Physical Requirements:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk.  Employee is required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, finger and feel.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and will frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
