Position Summary:

The Support Specialist supports the daily operation of SAA by regularly performing a variety of tasks and assisting staff as needed.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
    Oversee all aspects of providing accessible text and course materials to students with print disabilities; including training students on how to access their Book Share account, download books, download software to read smart PDF's, cut and scan books that cannot be procured from publishers, and follow-up with all students who have not requested or picked-up their materials Be proactive with accessible text by identifying students and courses needing accessible text and begin process of procuring books immediately after fall, spring and summer class registration Mine statistics from Accommodate database and create reports Assist with the coordination of students' SAA registration Create statistical reports Maintain student records and files in Accommodate Update SAA timeline, for SAA office operations, as needed
  • Proctor exams from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM daily, and on high volume days
  • Monitor Skype, and SAA email account
  • Assist students with submitting Semester Request, sign up for exams, and making online appointments.
  • Assist with SAA Fall Orientation
  • Assist with creating accommodation letters for Study Aboard students

Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree or four years of relevant work experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to prioritize, anticipate need and efficiently complete tasks Ability to self-initiate and work independently as needed Ability to work as a team member Proficient in Microsoft Office software, with the ability to work with databases specific to University needs. Strong problem solving and organizational skills Strong customer service skills Ability to proposes innovative approaches and willingly shares knowledge and collaborate Experience in a diverse work environment with an appreciation of the value of diversity in a work Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude Superior attention to detail Ability to respectfully work, communicate and provide leadership within a diverse campus community

Compensation and Benefits: Decisions about starting salaries are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations.
