Essential Job Duties:

Have you ever thought about working on a college campus? Now is an excellent opportunity for individuals to expand your experience in the hospitality field and receive on the job training from professional staff in the field of Facilities Enhancement.

This position’s overall function is utilizing a standard cleaning assignment to clean and sanitize an area within a building. This position is also responsible for reporting discrepancies found within the building in addition to responding to emergencies and inclement weather. The position will use standard housekeeping equipment, tools, and supplies to accomplish basic cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, disinfecting, and replenishing, to complete assigned job responsibilities and job tasks.


Other Responsibilities:

  • Model the Division’s mission and values, introduce the Division’s mission and values to the employees, and foster a positive, cohesive workplace and congeniality among co-workers.
  • Understand the goals and culture of the organization, and understand how employees’ work activities, teamwork, and customer service impact clients. Work with your supervisor and colleagues to understand these goals and the culture.
  • Adhere to all University policies, procedures, and regulations, and Division standard operating practices and protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on needs of the business.

Minimum Experience/Education:

Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Special certification may be required for some of these positions.

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working in fast paced environment
  • Excellence in completing all tasks and performance goals.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, including the ability to remain professional and respectful under pressure when dealing with difficult situations, to team and customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, peers and supervisors.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures and best business practices in the housekeeping industry
  • Working knowledge of operating standard housekeeping equipment, such as vacuums, to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Requires bending, twisting, pulling and pushing.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds frequently and 90 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols; incumbent will routinely handle cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Ability to use or learn to use email.

  • One year experience performing housekeeping duties in a university or commercial environment.
