The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Developmental Pediatrics has an opening for a full-time Instructor–Speech Language Pathologist position. 

Nature of Work:

  • This position will provide evidenced-based clinical Speech-Language Pathology services including diagnostic evaluation and intervention for children and youth with developmental disabilities and special health care needs. This position will be part of JFK Partners ENRICH, an early intervention team that provides supports and services to families who have children up to three years of age with developmental delays.
  • Work hours are Monday- Friday. The work location will be at JFK Partners, Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora and in community settings.

Position Emphasis:

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct clinical Speech-Language Pathology services including diagnostic evaluation and intervention for people with developmental disabilities and special health care needs.
  • Work with caregivers to identify priorities for increasing child independence and active participation within daily routines and classroom activities.
  • Work in various community settings including homes, childcare and preschool settings using transdisciplinary/primary provider model approach.
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring rate (or budgeted rate) for this position has been established at $53,000.

The above salary rate represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • At least 5 years of experience in Pediatrics and Developmental Disabilities.
  • Specialized training and skills in the following areas are required:
  • Young children with ASD and other developmental disabilities
  • Young children with challenging behaviors
Conditions of Employment:

  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with provision of intervention in homes, childcare, and preschool settings with caregivers and teachers using a transdisciplinary/primary provider model approach
  • Previous experience with working with caregivers to develop priorities for child independence and active participation within daily routines
Competencies:

  • Ability to interpret medical rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to establish rapport with persons of diverse backgrounds
  • Must possess a professional demeanor, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while working independently with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated, a fast learner and possess excellent time management, organizational skills
  • Ability to take direction and use independent judgment to coordinate various projects and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to advance diversity and inclusion
