The Division of Dermatology in the Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and Toronto Western Hospital (University Health Network) are seeking to recruit a full-time Clinician Teacher. The successful candidate would be committed to a career as an academic dermatologist and be eligible for a Full-Time Clinical Academic Appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. Expected start date is November 30, 2021, or another mutually agreeable date thereafter.

Teaching experience will be measured by the presence of a strong track record of interests and excellence in medical students, resident and fellow education, formal training in teaching methodology, awards, and other relevant experience. The successful applicant must hold a MD degree, FRCPC qualifications (or equivalent specialist designation) and have, or be eligible for, licensure in Ontario by the CPSO.

Additional subspecialty training in the dermatologic manifestations of rheumatologic disease, autoimmune bullous diseases, skin disease in immunosuppressed patients, cutaneous side effects of oncology therapeutics would be an asset. The candidate must have completed or be enrolled in a post-residency advanced training program in education.

A proven track record of academic excellence, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, research grants, presentations at significant conferences, awards, and accolades is an asset. In addition, the ideal applicant will have excellent communication skills and have demonstrated aptitude for effective interdisciplinary clinical and scholarly collaboration and interaction.

The successful applicant will be a consultant in a busy outpatient dermatology clinic and an in-patient consultation service at Toronto Western Hospital, a tertiary-care teaching hospital. The candidate will be expected to contribute substantially to the undergraduate and postgraduate training programs within the Division of Dermatology, Department of Medicine as a Clinician Teacher.

Academic rank, salary, and contractual arrangements will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Remuneration will also depend upon the academic rank, qualifications and amount of clinical work performed but will be in the usual range for an academic dermatologist in the Province of Ontario.
