Overview

This temporary position will provide administrative support and technical assistance to the Business and Information Technology Instructional work team.

Responsibilities

1. Coordinate the communication of information to Business and Information Technology Instructional work team, students and the general public. Identify the appropriate resources/services necessary for referral.

2. Coordinate with District work teams the setup of business and technology courses.

3. Utilize appropriate software applications for calendaring, e-mail, student and class information.

4. Prepare contracts for customized instruction and technical assistance in accordance with District policies.

5. Initiate and coordinate the book and module order process with Bookstore and publishers. Identify common texts for multiple sections, project quantities, generate orders and obtain and disseminate information and instructor copies to users to ensure an adequate supply of texts.

6. Assist with coordination of advisory committee meetings including managing computerized membership lists, correspondence, meeting arrangements and maintaining a file of minutes.

 

Qualifications

1. Associate degree in an administrative area of study OR a current student of the MPTC Administrative Coordinator degree who is within one semester of graduation.

2. A minimum of one year of related work experience or non-paid project experience.

3. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.4. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize work; analyze information, resolve problems and make recommendations.5. Extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment. Thorough knowledge of office equipment, software and procedures including Microsoft Office applications.6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to function as part of a team.

7. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.

8. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
