Job Description:


POSITION: Part-Time Dental Assisting Lab Assistant: Division of Health Professions, approximately 12 hours per week during the fall semester, Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00AM - 12:00PM; Non-Unit Position


RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Assists in the instruction of dental assisting students.
    • Activities include infection control, four-handed dentistry techniques, chairside assisting with general and specialty dentistry techniques, mixing of dental materials, coronal polishing and assisting with the application of topical fluoride and dental sealants.


Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Must be a graduate of an accredited dental assisting or dental hygiene program, currently certified or licensed in Massachusetts.
  • Knowledge of four-handed chairside assisting skills required.
  • Candidate must possess good organizational, verbal and written skills.
  • Work experience required.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work as a team member.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Computer Skills
  • Teaching Experience
  • Bilingual or Bi-cultural (English/Spanish).
  • Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse, urban population in a Hispanic-Serving Institution.

SALARY:


  • $28.00/hour
  • No fringe benefits
