Stanford’s Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (“DAPER”) is the premier intercollegiate athletics program in the country. We are the proud Home of Champions! The Associate Director, Gender Equity works under the direction of the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance Services. The Associate Director works cooperatively with athletic department staff and coaches to monitor, analyze, and provide guidance on DAPER’s gender equity efforts.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of DAPER’s roster management program, monitoring real-time changes and recommending adjustments as appropriate
  • Develop and oversee a gender equity tracking system, analyzing resources and support services provided to each sport program (e.g., equipment, athletic training services, academic support)
  • Evaluate DAPER policies and procedures, ensuring an equitable impact of policies across genders and sport programs
  • Monitor one-off financial requests from sport programs, ensuring overall balance of gender equity principles
  • Prepare an annual report for Office of General Counsel demonstrating DAPER’s adherence to Title IX
  • Prepare and/or review participation figures for purposes of NCAA, EADA, and Pac-12 reporting
  • Coordinate education and training on Title IX requirements with DAPER coaches and staff
  • A commitment to promoting and supporting an environment of diversity and inclusion
  • Other duties may also be assigned

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership, planning, and change management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence people, solve problems, troubleshoot, think creatively, and resolve conflicts
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated passion for intercollegiate athletics

In addition, preferred qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree and/or J.D.
