THIS POSITION IS IN KNOXVILLE, TN


JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This position is a part of the University Family Physicians billing staff. Responsibilities include processing of patient and insurance payments, refunds, and monitoring the accounts receivable for timely payments of all claims.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Retrieve all online remittances from insurance websites and correspond with the bursar's office on expected transfers.Responsible for scanning insurance remittance and daily encounter forms into the system.Correspond with the bursar's office on misguided checks and funds.Provide customer service for patients calling regarding billing questions.Take payments and set up payment plans.Assist with data entry of patient charges.Schedule appointments as needed for backup on appointment line.Assist front office with insurance and billing questions.Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

EDUCATION: High School diploma OR GED. (TRANSCRIPT IS REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two (2) years’ work experience with patient registration or billing

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including oral, written, and listening skills. Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment. Good computer skills. Knowledge and ability to work in Microsoft Office.
 

WORK SCHEDULEThis position may be occasionally required to work evenings.
