Program Manager, EMBA Healthcare Leadership

The Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applications for a full-time, exempt Program Manager for the Executive MBA for Healthcare Leadership (EMBA-HL).  The Program Manager will provide leadership and support in all academic activities and operations for the EMBA-HL program and other executive education services in the Healthcare Division of the Graduate and Executive Education (GEE) department of the Haslam College of Business (HCB). The primary responsibility will be providing direct oversight for the EMBA-HL program operations and delivery, including leading student support, faculty and academic support, and the operational aspects of EMBA-HL on-campus residencies and student trips. The position will have responsibilities in student recruitment, admissions, and program marketing as well.

The successful Program Manager will provide academic support for busy working professionals, guide improvements in operations and program experience, work effectively with staff across GEE, and collaborate frequently with other university departments and external institutions. Providing the highest standards of customer service is essential as the lasting relationships built with faculty, students, and other internal and external stakeholders directly contribute to continued business success.

The position requires great project management skills; strong attention to detail; commitment to customer service; independence and judgment; adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to communicate with many different types of people, including executives, faculty, and corporate customers. The Program Manager must have excellent organizational ability, technology facility, and oral and written communication skills.


    PROGRAM OPERATIONS AND DELIVERYExecute the operations and delivery for the Executive MBA for Healthcare Leadership degree program and assist with event services, alumni relations, program marketing, and admissions as neededManage program-specific communication with students and faculty, establish and maintain curriculum calendar, assist in outside vendor managementEnsure budgets are kept based on Director’s contractual delegations, execute day-of program activities, and conduct follow up assessments after completion of programmingPlan and staff multiple on-campus residency periods, plan and manage off-campus immersion trips, manage online learning events each calendar year, and assist in student admissions as needed
  • Provide leadership in the operations and delivery of non-degree educational services for the GEE Healthcare Division
  • Work with Program Directors on program design; establish and maintain trusted relationships with counterparts at client organizations; collaborate with staff, faculty, and clients on scheduling; secure event spaces and supporting services; work with faculty to prepare and distribute materials; manage all day-of activities; and manage other program support activities such as evaluations and certificates and other responsibilities as required
  • Establish and sustain critical program relationships with students, faculty, corporations, and business partners
  • Schedule and facilitate Faculty instruction for EMBA-HL; assist Program Directors in providing Faculty summits and reviews of curriculum; coordinate Faculty, Guest Faculty, and TA Evaluation processes; arrange for all capstone student and faculty travel; act as Point of Contact for existing and future corporate and government relationships; serve as point of contact for alumni of the program; and develop relationship initiatives (events, social media, correspondence) as needed

    • Bachelor's Degree with 3 – 5 years business/professional experience in a program or project management role
