The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UT) invites applications and nominations for our Federal Programs Coordinator position. UT is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.

The Enrollment Management (EM) division comprises more than 150 full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, Transfer Center, One Stop Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, University Registrar, EM Communications, and Research & Analytics. This position will serve all departments in EM working closely with our accounting specialist and reporting to the director.

Functions and Responsibilities:

Works in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Loan Processing with tasks such as Return to Title IV, Unofficial Withdrawals, late and retroactive fund disbursements, and loan adjustments. Serves as backup to the Reconciliation Coordinator, including reconciling financial aid fund accounts in IRIS, managing the appropriate supporting documentation, reviewing and reconciling US Dept. of Education Origination and Disbursement records and TN Student Assistance Corporation deposits to a zero balance. Manage implementation of and updates to all modules and special terms, including Winter and Summer Mini terms.

Required Education and Experience:

Associate degree

2+ years of accounting, business, higher education or related experience required.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree

Working knowledge of federal and state financial aid rules and regulations preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent oral and written communications skills. Ability to write clearly and concisely using effectual writing skills.  Sensitive to cultural diversity and ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds.  Proven ability to work effectively as a team member. Ability to analyze and interpret data, and ability to make and be responsible for decisions.  Ability to work independently and under time constraints.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (or similar). Ellucian Banner, OnBase, and/or TeamDynamix experience preferred.
