Summary of Duties:
This position has responsibility to undertake and perform properly, efficiently, to the best of their ability and consistent with the standards of the University, all duties and responsibilities for the health care of student-athletes under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Athletics for Athletic Medicine and the guidance of the Team Physicians; to include coordination of care, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation, also responsible for assisting with clinical education, supervision and mentoring of the Athletic Training students in the accredited Athletic Training education curriculum program. This position serves Men's Baseball and other sport assignments.
Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, NATA Certification, and demonstrated ability to work with students, coaches, and administrative personnel in a broad range of medical situations. Adult CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required.
Master’s degree in related field
Minimum of two years of work experience within intercollegiate athletic training services.
Must have, or be able to obtain within two months of hire, a Washington State Athletic Trainer License.
Must have a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
Must have the ability to travel.
Must have, or must be able to obtain, a valid driver’s license by time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Athletic Training.
Work experience within Division I level of athletic training services.
Work experience that demonstrates the necessary skills to successfully supervise Athletic Training Students (ATS).
Work experience that demonstrates ability to provide clinical ATS instruction.
Work experience that demonstrates ability to work successfully with a diverse student population.
Work experience that demonstrates strong verbal and written communications skills.

Associate Vice Provost for Inclusive Excellence Recently Announced
Dr. Lisa Guerrero was recently named associate vice provost for inclusive excellence. Guerrero has been an active advocate for diversity and inclusion since joining the WSU faculty in 2004. She is currently a professor of Comparative Ethnic Studies in WSU’s School of Languages, Cultures, and Race. She will maintain her faculty position, while serving as associate vice provost in a half-time appointment.
Dr. Guerrero will provide leadership to academic affairs in implementing WSU’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. She will help to identify and implement best practices and evidence-based approaches in faculty hiring, tenure and promotion, research support, faculty retention, teaching and mentoring, and curriculum planning. One of her first areas of responsibility will be to oversee the Racism and Social Inequality in the Americas faculty cluster hire program for Fall 2021.
