Educational and Experience Requirement:

High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent. Associates degree preferred. Two years relevant clerical experience or experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Must be a current Sam Houston State University employee in order to be considered for this position.

Nature & Purpose of Position:

Performs complex Administrative Assistant duties for The Alumni Relations department and provides primary support to the Assistant to the Associate Vice President of Alumni Relations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manages and reconciles a large volume of daily deposits for donations and event sponsorships. Processes purchase orders, travel requisitions and reimbursement reports, and reconciles monthly Pcard transactions. Generates correspondence to alumni, donors, scholarship recipients. Maintains a current and accurate departmental policy and procedures manual. Maintains records for annual nominations for service awards, distinguished alumni, board of directors, and job applicant information. This position is the primary back-up to the Assistant to the Associate Vice President of Alumni Relations and assists in maintaining a current alumni database; accurate scholarship reconciliations, and various department reports. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications:

Requires experience with Procurement, Travel, and P-Card reconciliation. Requires experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with daily deposits is desired.
