We offer degree programs as well as general education courses in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geography, Geology, Mathematics, and Physics/Astronomy.Job Summary The Department of Mathematics, Sciences, and Technology at the University of West Georgia invites applications for part-time Instructors in Computer Science, Geology, and Physics/Astronomy. The appointments will begin in August 2021 (Fall semester) and may be renewed. The positions are contingent on funding and enrollment.Responsibilities The successful candidate will teach lectures or labs in Carrollton, Newnan, and/or Douglasville. The courses will generally be at the undergraduate introductory level and in one of the following subjects (depending on the expertise and qualifications of the candidate): Computer Science, Geology, Physics and/or Astronomy.Required Qualifications Educational RequirementsThe successful candidate will have earned a master's degree in one of the following (or closely related) fields with a strong academic preparation in that field (at least 18 semester credit hours at the graduate level): Computer Science, Geology, Physics, or Astronomy. The successful candidate must be eligible for employment in the United States at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications The successful candidate should be passionate about teaching lower-division science or technology courses to a diverse student body. Experience in college-level teaching is desired, along with knowledge of technology applications in the classroom. Preferred candidates will have prior teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Required Documents to Attach
