Career Accessibility and Equity Coordinator

Responsible for DEI efforts for the career center and will manage partnerships with internal stakeholders and students. You will also create resource guides and provide workshops for student organizations, classroom presentations with faculty, and other campus partners. You will collaborate with the career center team for employer events.

Your Team:

The Career Development Center at Emerson is the hub for developing and educating students and alumni regarding their individualized career paths and career planning. The Career Development Center also serves as a complement to the classroom and workplace experience. We educate using different modalities tailored to individual needs.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Under the guidance of the Associate Director, lead the development and implementation of diversity efforts for student engagement in conjunction with the goals of the Career Development Center
  • Serve as the liaison for faculty to provide career education through online systems and in the classroom, and be the main point of contact for the internal Career Center DEI task force
  • Partner with other campus offices, student clubs and organizations with the goal of providing career and employer information, resources, and the creation of an electronic toolkit
  • Conduct regular assessment of resources and maintain an online library available for students, alumni and employers
  • Serve as an advisor to counsel undergraduate students in all aspects of the career development process such as resume and cover letter writing, interviewing and internship searching


Your Other Responsibilities:
  • Other duties as assigned such as Campus wide events and key projects


Your Skills and Experience:
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Career counseling skills with resume and cover letter reviews and internship and job searching
  • Understanding of DEI education and its significance
  • Competent in event planning and program development
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be willing to function as part of an active team
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Two to four years experience with college age students in an educational setting, preferably with DEI efforts accomplished


Preferred Experience
  • Master's degree is preferred in a related discipline
  • Two years of experience working with college age students in an educational setting
  • Prior experience with DEI training or delivery of efforts



Work Environment

  • Typical office environment

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods

  • Ability to concentrate for long periods of time

    Grade of Position: A15E

    Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36.25

    Hiring Range: $51,100.00 - $53,600.00
