Job Summary This position is responsible for assisting in coaching the university’s women’s soccer program.

Position has been funded as full-time for two years. Future full-tiem eligibility is contingent upon funding.

Responsibilities
    Assists in planning and managing practices and game day activities. (30%)Instructs, coaches, and motivates players.

    Recruits student athletes. (10%)Attends high school games.Evaluates players. Communicates with coaches and players.

    Advises and monitors the academic progress of student athletes. (5%)Provides advice and support to struggling students.Monitors student athletes’ community service.Ensures compliance with eligibility requirements.

    Maintains equipment and supply inventory. (5%)Purchases program equipment.Submits requisitions for equipment purchases.

    Coordinates team travel. (5%)Reserves transportation for away games. Prepares expense reports and travel authorizations. Coordinates meals and hotels.

    Assist First Year Experience department with projects focused on freshmen retention. (20%)

    Meet with students to help address issues concerning transitioning into college life. (10%)

    Serve on Residence Life after hours on-call staff rotation. (5%)

    Performs a variety of related duties. (10%)
Required Qualifications
    Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field required.More than one year of related experience required.Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

    Knowledge of the rules and regulations governing intercollegiate sports.Knowledge of college-level athletic program management principles.Knowledge of women’s soccer rules and procedures.Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.Skill in the coaching and training of student athletes.Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.Skill in oral and written communication.
