Job Description70% Undergraduate Academic Administrative Support - Independently coordinate a variety of academic administrative support processes including but not limited to: admissions, scholarships, graduation, and enrollment. Examples of tasks include:
- Coordinate and process change of school forms to the School of Business undergraduate program.
- Prepare, report, and communicate with staff and students regarding admissions and scholarships adhering to University and School of Business policies and procedures.
- Process honor roll and honor society data, credit/no credit, holds, petitions.
- Respond to students requests and inquiries regarding but not limited to: new student orientation, permissions for enrollment, adjusting course capacities, confirmation of degrees, and graduation requirements.
- Interact with various departments around campus to ensure enrollment, scholarship and financial aid issues are addressed for students as needed.
- Work closely with Area Directors to set and manage course capacities.
- Process course evaluations from external institutions including study abroad and communicate KU equivalency to the Office of Admissions.
- Review, process, track, and follow-up with students regarding graduation requirements after receiving Application for Degrees (AFD).
- Conduct final checks after graduation, rescind AFD’s as needed and process retroactive graduation requests.
- Assist with Marketing Extension Program enrollment and verification.
- Assist Dean’s office with verifying commencement program.
20% General Administrative Support - Provide essential administrative support to the SAS department, SAS Director and Associate Dean’s office as needed. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide the highest standard of confidentiality and accuracy with regard to School of Business student records in accordance with FERPA.
- Assist office staff with scheduling appointments and special assignments as needed.
- Maintain and assists in development of office procedures and policies.
- Work in coordination with the dean’s office on special projects as assigned.
- Independently work on special projects/data analysis assigned by Research Analyst.
- May supervise and provide leadership to student employees, including training and assigning of tasks.
- May handle general office tasks, such as preparing materials, generating reports and presentations, setting up for meetings, and transcribing minutes.
- Maintain daily correspondence, ensuring that incoming and outgoing documents are properly prepared, processed and/or distributed.
- Attends business school staff and faculty (as needed) assembly meetings.
- Participates in school and university wide committees and groups as requested.
- Completes other job-related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or completion of G.E.D. equivalency, plus two years of office experience; or two years of post-secondary education.
- Documented evidence of at least basic skills for Microsoft Office, including Excel, as indicated on application materials.
- High proficiency in Microsoft office software applications, including Excel.At least 1 year of working knowledge utilizing the KU Enroll & Pay system or other enterprise systems.
