Duties:

The Gallery Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the continued development and supervision of activities in and associated with the Robert F. DeCaprio Gallery. The Gallery Coordinator reports directly to the Managing Director of the Fine and Performing Arts Center and works closely and collaboratively with the Dean of Liberal Arts, Assistant Dean of Liberal Arts and the Visual Arts Faculty to ensure the smooth operations of the Robert F. DeCaprio Gallery. The Gallery Coordinator is dedicated to the learning college concepts of developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.

The Art Gallery Coordinator works collaboratively to select and present a season of gallery shows for the Robert F. DeCaprio Gallery. Under the supervision of the Managing Director of the FPAC, the Art Gallery Coordinator convenes and chairs a committee to review artists’ submissions and present submissions in meetings to develop future gallery seasons. The Art Gallery Coordinator is responsible for all exhibition installations and maintenance of gallery spaces, as well as coordinating, promoting and supervising all openings. The Art Gallery Coordinator participates as a committee member and works collaboratively to present the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference and League for Innovation Student Art Competitions. Additionally, the Coordinator develops and supervises visual arts workshops/seminars each season and performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts or related field required.

Qualifications:

A strong background in visual arts and in arts administration as evidenced by prior experience required. Curatorial and grant-writing experience is a plus.
