General Summary

The University of Denver is seeking a talented Manager, Events for a part-time benefited position in the Office of Communications, Marketing, Graduate Admissions and Events (OCMGAE) at the Daniels College of Business. This is a terrific opportunity to join a dynamic team that is responsible for brand development, internal and external communications, enrollment marketing, graduate program admissions, and major events for the College. The part-time Manager, Events will report directly to the Assistant Director, Events, and will work with the rest of the OCMGAE staff and other operating groups within the College to orchestrate best-in-class admissions events throughout the academic year, as well as assist with the planning and execution of non-admissions events for the College.

This position will entail approximately 1,000 hours of work per calendar year. Weekly workload will be somewhat variable and depends on the events calendar. Candidates will need to work more than 20 hours in select weeks (and fewer in other weeks), and work some evening and weekend hours, as appropriate.

Essential Functions

The Manager, Events will have responsibility for planning and executing admissions events and related programs that drive enrollment for the Graduate Admissions team, including the creation of content and programming in concert with Admissions, coordination with the Marketing team to promote the events, and post-event surveying of all stakeholders to obtain feedback.

Additionally, this role will support the Assistant Director in the planning and execution of the Colleges full events portfolio, including graduation ceremonies. This position would also help manage the events submission and management process, as well as assisting with the building of emails and registration pages for all events.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education or work experience (Veterans with an equivalent combination of military certification/education and experience may substitute these qualifications for the degree qualification.).
  • Two or more years of relevant work experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience in events management and execution, with content and programming creation responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Admissions events and/or higher education experience.
  • Event email and registration skills, specifically with iModules or Slate, is an additional plus.

Work Schedule
20 hours per week, flexible schedule.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 8.

Hourly Range:
The hourly range for the position is $24.52-$28.09.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
