Job Description:

General Description:
This position will work as part of the College Parking & Transportation and NOVACard Services team.

Duties and Tasks:
This position maintains electronic records of all Accounts Receivable for past-due parking citations by ensuring these are easily retrievable for internal or external review. This position assists the College Parking Office staff to purchase supplies, products/materials; track and record orders. This position provides support to College and Campus Parking Services staff on special projects as needed. This position provides customer services to students, faculty, staff, and guests that have questions regarding Parking & Transportation and NOVACard. This position provides general administrative and clerical support to the Parking & Transportation and NOVACard Services team; including filing, scanning, taking meeting minutes.

Essential functions:
This position is responsible for financial tasks related to financial reports, reconciling web revenue deposits, Accounts payable/receivable and the Central Parking operating budget.

This position is funded with non continuous or non-recurring funding and is subject to continuation based on fiscal year funds and the needs of the college.

Special Assignments:

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications:

KSAs:

  • Knowledge of standard accounting/bookkeeping principles and procedures.
  • Ability to follow and apply established College, VCCS, and State policies and procedures.
  • Ability to be task and goal oriented.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to communicate effective verbal y and in written communication.
  • Ability to analyze financial accounts, invoices, or reports and draw conclusions.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to operate in a collaborative environment.
  • Working knowledge of PC based applications, including spreadsheets and databases.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree in accounting, business, public administration, or related field and/or equivalent training and at least one year related work experience.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office (significant work experience with Excel).
  • Experience processing financial transactions.
  • Experience in revenue and expenditure tracking.
  • Experience analyzing data and researching/gathering financial information from software systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Oracle based applications such as: Peoplesoft AIS & SIS, and CS Gold application.
  • Experience working with eVA purchasing system.
  • Experience working in a College or University Parking or Transportation Office.
