Position Summary

The Institute for Quantitative Health Science and Engineering and the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Michigan State University is seeking two Postdoctoral Research Associates in the Jinxing Li Lab (http://www.lab-li.com/). The Li Lab focuses on creating miniaturized biosensors and medical robots for disease diagnostics and treatment. Our lab is based in the brand-new IQ/Bioengineering Building. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop cutting-edge biomedical technologies, learn new skills, and be part of an enjoyable workplace. Candidates from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.

Specifically, the successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Build engineering solutions to solve the problems in biology and medicine
  • Collaborate with researchers across different disciplines and institutions
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the lab
  • Present findings and data in lab meetings, publications, and presentations
  • Purchase, setting up, and maintaining equipment necessary to conduct research.

This position is a 12-month fixed-term appointment. Renewal of position is based on funding and performance.

Required Degree

Doctorate

Minimum Requirements

Degree in Biomedical/Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical/Materials Engineering, Biology, Neuroscience, Chemistry, Applied Physics, Medicine, or related field.

Desired Qualifications

Research experience in the following related fields is preferred:

  • neuroscience and neuroengineering,
  • robotics,
  • cell and tissue biology,
  • micro/nanofabrication,
  • wireless electronics and integrated electronics,
  • drug delivery,
  • microbiology,
  • soft materials, or
  • electrochemistry.
