Under the direction of the Child Development Center Facilitator, the Child Development Center Cook prepares food in accordance with the Child Care and Adult Food Program (CACFP) regulations, NC Licensing Regulations and NC Sanitation Requirements. The cook is responsible for maintaining local, federal, and state guidelines within the kitchen work area and other areas in the building. The Child Development Center Cook has knowledge of and the ability to:1. Complete inventory weekly and submit to administration on a bi-weekly basis.2. Complete daily meal counts and CACFP paperwork.3. Handle Food in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards.4. Assure that the kitchen and food storage areas are clean and organized daily.5. Provide 15-minute breaks for CDC staff.6. Interact positively and effectively with children, parents, staff, students, and the public.7. Exhibit personal qualities of patience, cheerfulness optimism, flexibility, cooperation, and reliability.8. Respond to emergencies calmly.9. Works well without close supervision.10. Commitment to the community college "open door" philosophy and the comprehensive community college concept.11. Works with CDC Facilitator, teachers, and children to complete other center tasks as needed.Application Procedures
