Position Summary:

Prairie State College seeks adjunct faculty to teach high-beginning and low-intermediate ESL courses (ESL 002 and ESL 003). Successful candidates will have experience teaching adult English language learners and a heart for working with the area’s immigrant population.

Classes will meet on campus.

ESL 002 meets Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:30am – 12:30pm.

ESL 003 meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30am – 12:30pm.

The 12-week fall semester is from 8/30/21 – 11/18/21.

Both classes are 5 credit hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires an MA in TESOL or applied linguistics, or an MA in a related field plus a TEFL/TESL certificate.

Experience in teaching adult English language learners is also required.

Preferred Qualifications:

MA in TESOL or applied linguistics
Experience teaching Adult Education ESL
