Responsibilities:

Faculty member will participate as member of teaching team in preparation and presentation of learning experience with department curriculum; normal course load of at least 15 credit hours per semester. Faculty member will provide quality and innovative instruction; effectively mentor students; supply professional leadership in curriculum development; recruit students; assist with advising and registration; serve on departmental and college committees; continue professional development; complete appropriate reports; maintain records/grades; submit reports and records to division director, or dean, and perform other duties as may be assigned. Faculty member will establish and maintain a positive professional relationship with colleagues, students, and the community. Faculty member will pursue opportunities for professional development and service, keeping informed of new technology and approaches to learning.

Instruction in the Industrial/Process Technology field may also be required as necessary.

This is a non-tenured full time faculty position.

Qualifications:

Two-year degree or equivalent course work required. Bachelor or Master’s degree preferred in field. Minimum of three years recent documented work experience in the petrochemical/plastics/synthetic rubber industry and teaching experience in the following courses; instrumentation. Prefer community college or higher education teaching experience. Familiarity with Orange County Industries is a plus. Basic computer literacy required. Valid driver’s license is required. Faculty member must comply with established college policies and standards.

This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215.

Thirty technical programs are available, leading to associate of applied science degrees, certificates of completion and institutional awards. Customized training programs to meet the needs of local business and industry and offered through the Continuing and Workforce Education Department.
