The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Candidates must be board certified/eligible and trained as a specialist in Ob/Gyn or a subspecialist in either Maternal-Fetal, Medicine, Urogynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, or Family Planning.
Teaching responsibilities may include an active role in the training of medical students, residents and fellows including participation in the formal curriculum.
Clinical responsibilities may include participating in patient care as an Obstetrics and Gynecology specialist or as a subspecialist in the following: Maternal-Fetal, Medicine, Urogynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, or Family Planning.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include conducting basic, translational and/or clinical research in women's reproductive health. Research and scholarship in the area of Obstetrics and Gynecology and/or one of its subspecialties, Maternal-Fetal, Medicine, Urogynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, or Family Planning, is required. Women’s Reproductive Health Research Awards are available. Individuals with an interest in a mentored research experience may be considered for a Women's Reproductive Health Research (WRHR) career development award.
For the clinician-educator track, original papers in peer-reviewed journals with identifiable focus and impact, as either collaborator or lead author, are suitable.
For the tenure track, impactful science that demonstrates leadership and independence often leading to high-impact original papers that must clearly highlight the individuals’ role in advancing the field is expected.
Applicants in mid-career with established records of scholarly activity and/or research programs are encouraged to apply.
