Global Initiatives Communications & Marketing Specialist - Student Assistant
$8.80/hr - $9.65/hr
Are you both creative and detail-oriented? Global Initiatives is looking for a student to assist the Assistant Director for Communications & Marketing in the development and implementation of strategic marketing communications for all offices within Global Initiatives: Education Abroad,
International Student & Scholar Services, Center for American & World Cultures, and Continuing Education.
We are looking for students to choose an area of interest. Examples of areas we are looking for include: videography, photography, social media marketing, conducting interviews and writing news articles, website development, graphic design, and working tables at events/cultural festivals.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Designing and creating, writing, and editing of content for both print and electronic media.
Assistance in the creation of short informational videos, preferably using Adobe After Effects.
Assistance in the development and maintenance of social media platforms and campaigns, primarily Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
Attendance at events to promote and market timely programs and to distribute information with target audiences.
Hours/times are flexible.
Preferred majors: Interactive Media Studies, Professional Writing, Graphic Design, Strategic Communication, Marketing, and Media and Culture.
Must be able to work on assignments independently and quickly in a time-sensitive environment, should have experience working with different genres of print design and documentation (such as: brochures, flyers, posters, et cetera), have an understanding of grammar and editing, and must have strong business communication skills.
Must be comfortable and proficient when working with Adobe Creative Suite design software-Illustrator, InDesign, and PhotoShop in particular.
Preferred video and animation experience with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere.
