We value the ability to engage effectively with students, faculty and staff of diverse backgrounds.The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Endocrinology has an opening for a full-time Professional Research Assistant position.Nature of Work:A professional research assistant is being sought to oversee grant-funded mental and behavioral health clinical trials at Children’s Hospital Colorado. The professional research assistant to be hired will be responsible primarily for all of the day-to-day operations of a clinical trial aimed at the coordinated prevention of depression and type 2 diabetes in at-risk adolescents. The position will involve conducting interdisciplinary participant visits in the Pediatric Clinical and Translational Research Center, database setup and management of multimodal data, recruitment of participants, participant retention efforts, management of clinical trials regulatory affairs, and administrative and clerical duties. Opportunities for this position include:- (1) direct contact with adolescents and families;
- (2) participation in interdisciplinary, team science with expert collaborators in the fields of psychology, food and nutrition, health and exercise science, pediatrics, and endocrinology;
- (3) professional development of pediatric clinical research coordination skillset; and
- (4) potential for authorship on scientific publications and presentations.
- This opening is currently for a two-year position, but there is the hope for continuation after that time, dependent on performance and funding.

- Recruit study participants, database maintenance and data entry, perform participant visits in the pediatric Clinical Translational Research Center, handle and store biological specimens, conduct interviews and behavioral tasks/testing with participants, administer surveys, assist with participant retention, order supplies, manage expenses, and prepare regulatory reports.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master of Science, Master of Public Health, or Master of Arts Degree
- Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
- Must be willing and able to pass a criminal and sex offender background check
- Fluency in oral Spanish
- Previous experience in administration of psychological assessments
- Previous experience working with children and adolescents
- Basic computer skills
- Effective organizational and communication skills
- Previous experience in clinical research
