General Summary of Position:

The Biomedical Engineering Department is seeking a financial coordinator who will report to the Chair of the Biomedical Engineering Department, Bryan Buchholz, PhD. The position will also support Professor Laura Punnett for the CHP-NEW grant (also in Biomedical Engineering).

This position is to be filled as soon as possible and is currently supported through 5/31/2022. Continued employment is possible, contingent on future funding. The successful candidate will be responsible for oversight of all financial aspects of the biomedical engineering department and will assist with financial aspects of multiple grant projects, of which the major ones are CAPCaT, RADx, and CPH-NEW.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Project Administrator or comparable position with financial management duties, preferably in an academic or non-profit research environment

Will consider candidates with an Associates degree and 7-10 years of directly related experience

  • Demonstrated familiarity with financial management software applications. Training and experience in Peoplesoft Summit is essential
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Evidence of success in project management: well-organized, able to multitask, able to work independently with good problem-solving and analytic skills; flexibility and ability to prioritize; ability to collaborate with diverse individuals in a highly professional manner
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Windows-based computer applications: word processing, spreadsheets, Adobe Acrobat, and email

Additional Considerations:

  • Strong writing skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills across various levels

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desirable but not required
  • Preparation of project budgets in support of new grant-writing

This is a Grants & Contracts (MTA/GRACE) bargaining unit position, Grade P16.

This position is contingent upon funding.
